At Federation Square from August 27 - September 9, there will be a makeshift ‘laundry’ which will house an interactive recording unit inside a Hoover dryer.
The general public and writers are invited to read their contributions or ruminate on suburbia to the just-stopped clothes dryer. These to-camera confessions are uploaded to this website for navigation and viewing anywhere in the world.
These readings will be screened episodically on the Federation Square Big Screen during the Festival.
The ‘laundry’ will be open for recordings Monday-Thursday 10am-5pm, Friday- Sunday 1.30pm- 5pm for recording at your leisure.
On site, there are also HOIST postcards available for you to write down your thoughts and stories on life in the suburbs. Then just peg them on the HOIST. If you prefer, take a postcard home and post it to us, we’ll peg it on the HOIST for you.
